A regional gathering of network leaders in Paraguay recently was a wonderful time of celebrating the last 30 years of Viva and looking forward to the next 30, together.

Viva-supported Christmas parties run by partner networks are not just about children having a time of fun and learning - but an opportunity for outreach and expansion.

Children Development Network Myanmar is one of several partner networks that runs Christmas parties - with Amoon’s story showing just how significant such interventions can be for at-risk children.

Doorsteps youth work is moving under a new charity Journey Together - with collaboration still very much at the heart of their mission.

The Child-Friendly Church initiative helps churches embed programmes that are child-focused and holistic in nature. The Children at Risk Action Network (CRANE) in Uganda has been successfully helping church leaders be more child-friendly with training and resources, with a very positive impact.

The World Weekend of Prayer brings together churches and faith-based organisations to pray for and with children. This year’s focus was on exploring what it means to have ‘life in all its fullness’.

Viva’s Cutting Edge conference ran over three days in July 2025 and was packed with useful material to encourage and challenge child practitioners and advocates everywhere. Highlighting the work of Viva’s partner networks and giving space to leading experts in various fields to share their knowledge, the conference created a space for mutual learning and engagement. This inspiring and eloquent opening address by Menchit Wong set the scene.

Learning Spaces being run by Viva’s partner CarNetNepal are having an incredible impact on children - with much credit going to their dedicated mentors, trained and supported by the network.
