Viva’s 30th Birthday

Community Fundraising Challenge

Viva is turning 30! Can you help us celebrate by doing a fundraising event?

As we help networks of churches and organisations working together for children all over the world, we are very grateful for our network of supporters who play an essential role by giving, praying and raising awareness about our work.

It's always so encouraging to see the efforts of supporters, young and old, to raise vital funds for Viva through events or sponsored activities, such as these fantastic achievements:

  • 3-day cycle ride challenge

Isaac Green, aged 10, raised almost £2,000 for Viva by doing a 3-day cycle ride challenge!

  • Lantau Trail 70

A group of eight supporters in Hong Kong climbed a mountain in a relay-style race called the Lantau Trail 70.

  • Rosey's Green Fingers!

Rosey has used her ‘green fingers’ to sell plants from her front garden, with the proceeds going to Viva.

What fundraising challenge could you do?

We invite you to run a community fundraising event to help us celebrate 30 years of helping at-risk children – being as creative as you like! Some ideas to kick you off are below; could you and friends or family members do any of the following, or come up with your own unique idea according to your skills, interests and resources…?

  • Run, cycle and swim a triathlon

Run, cycle and swim a triathlon-style sponsored event, with three people doing 10 miles each.

  • Bake sale

Bake and sell 30 cakes to family and friends.

  • Stay away from social media

Get friends and family to sponsor you as you go without social media for 30 days.

  • Hold a special ‘30-themed’ birthday

Hold a special ‘30-themed’ birthday or garden party on the 30th of a month, or invite 30 friends, with donations to Viva in lieu of gifts (as the Viva Hong Kong Board Chairman once did for his 60th!)

  • Dream Auction

Source donations from local people and businesses to run a ‘dream auction’ with 30 items.

  • Readathon

Do a ‘readathon’ of 30 books in a set period of time.

Encouraging children in your community or family to participate in a joint event would be a great way to build their team-building skills and help them consider the needs of at-risk children around the world.

We would be delighted to walk alongside you as you host an event or run an activity that embraces your unique skills, interests, and creativity. We can help set up a giving page, share your event on our online platforms, and provide you with a pack, so that people know exactly how their giving will impact the lives of at-risk children around the world.  Get in touch with us today!
