The Maths

Together, we can multiply impact for more children.

Research has revealed what ONE Viva-supported network can achieve.

100 churches & organisations working together + Viva

=

16,000 childen receiving better care + 3,760 more children being supported.

In school, you’re always told to show how you worked out your answer - so how did we arrive at these numbers?

Each year, our network-partners complete a Network Health Check. Over many years, this provides a great picture of what these networks look like and what they are achieving for children. We therefore know that a typical network that Viva supports is made up of approximately 100 churches and community-based organisations. It is usual for each church / organisation to already be supporting about 200 children – that’s 20,000.

Research conducted by The Sagamore Institute revealed reveals that 80% of network members improve the quality of their programmes when they are part of a Viva-supported network – that’s 16,000 children receiving BETTER care. (80% of 20,000)

The same research also revealed that 94% will increase the number of children they work with, a 20% increase is a reasonable estimate - that is 3,760 MORE children being supported.

However, it’s get’s better!

  • This is not a one-off. Viva’s approach builds sustainability for the long term, so more children will be impacted year on year.

  • This is ONE network. We currently support 42 networks and want to be supporting 15 new networks by 2030.

  • As networks from around the world join together, facilitated by Viva, the multiplier effect is increased as networks combine their learning and resources.
