This Christmas
could you help make hope a reality for more children?
This Christmas, we’re looking to raise money so next year we can help establish new, child-focused, networks in more cities around the world.
Together, we can help make hope a reality for more children.
Each new network represents:
-
10,000s
more children receiving support from churches and faith-based organisations.
-
100,000s
of children receiving
better quality of care -
1,000,000s
of children positively impacted by child-friendly policies and legislation.
Give today to enable Viva to inspire, equip and connect more churches and community-based organisations to work together to make a bigger, better, longer-lasting impact in the lives of children.
Thank you for your support

What a year it’s been! The world has faced disasters, division, numerous conflicts, and more turmoil than I can remember. I imagine many people felt something similar in the years before Jesus was born.
Then one day, amid chaos, hope appeared in human flesh—hope personified, with a name: Jesus (Saviour), Immanuel (God with us). This long-awaited event changed the course of human history. It offered a glimmer of hope that grew to shine brightly as this “man of hope,” whom we celebrate at Christmas, brought eternal hope.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13)
This hope is the foundation for all we do. It’s this hope that motivates us. We want children, everywhere, to experience this hope.
This Advent, we’ll be sharing a weekly hope-filled reflection – via email, on our socials and here on our website.
Week 1: Waiting in Hope
During Advent, we are waiting. We are waiting to celebrate Jesus’ birth. We wait expectantly… we wait with anticipation… we wait in hope.
“But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Saviour.” (Micah 7:7)
When the clouds of despair roll in, we must remember that the stars are still there; we just can’t see them.
Week 2: Glimmers of Hope
One small glimmer is enough to piece the darkness. Every glimmers of hope is a little glimpse of heaven… a glimpse of God’s kingdom… his will being done on earth as it is in heaven.
“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)
We should not just be observers of glimmers of hope – we should be bringers of hope.
Week 3: Foundation of Hope
As a Christian, my hope for now, and my hope for the future, is based on a past event – the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
“...he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ…” (1 Peter 1:3-4)
I know, because of this foundation of hope, that this is not how it should be, and a better future is possible – there is always the possibility of hope.
Week 4: Future Hope
We must be careful what we hope for because our hopes set our course. Our hope is our North Star.
“There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain…” (Revelation 21:4)
We should be more influenced – in the here and now – by our future destiny than our past reality.
