Supporting and enhancing organisation’s effort to ensure every child lives in a safe and secure environment free from all forms of abuse, violence and exploitation and is capable of enjoying all the their rights..

Mwanza Children Action Network (MCAN) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO with registration number 00NGO/R/3097) based in Mwanza, Tanzania. MCAN began in 2017 as a coalition of churches working with children in Mwanza under the union of Christian churches.  MCAN efforts are focused on ensuring that every child lives in a safe and secure environment, free from all forms of abuse, violence and exploitation. MCAN does this by:

  1. Promoting social standards that support children’s development in terms of health, education and social welfare.

  2. Advocating for the introduction and enforcement of legislation prohibiting the use of violence against children by parents, teachers and other caretakers

  3. Empowering families to become safe, stable and nurturing.

  4. Promoting organisations’ efforts in preventing and responding to violence against children.
