When disasters strike, the locally led networks of churches and organisations that make up the Viva Network are perfectly placed to help those in need. Volunteers from within affected communities can be easily mobilised to provide shelter, distribute aid, support families, and bring hope where it is most needed. With your support, this response can be expanded, reaching more affected children and families.

If we raise more money than a network can effectively use during a specific appeal, funds will be used to support other Viva Network members in disaster response situations.

Current Focus: Floods and Mudslides in Nepal

Funds are being raised to support CarNet Nepal, our network member in Nepal, as its member churches and organisations come together to meet the needs of families affected by the recent catastrophic flash floods and related mudslides. Hundreds of people have died or are reported missing, with property destroyed and roads impassable. Read more here.

CarNet is in contact with local network members in one location, Bidhur Municipality, Nuwakot, where churches are providing shelters for affected families. Two staff members are supporting a Network Member’s Rescue Network team with a preliminary survey to identify needs. With your support, CarNet and its member churches can buy and distribute relief items and encourage children and families facing enormous hardship and loss.
