Viva’s commitment to safeguarding

Viva recognises the inherent dignity and worth of all people. Viva will not tolerate abuse, bullying, harassment and exploitation by staff or associated personnel and is committed to communicating this message through the organisation and through the Christian community of its networked constituents.

Safeguarding involves creating a safe environment and protecting peoples’ health, wellbeing, and welfare. This includes enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect.

Viva recognises its responsibilities for safeguarding the welfare of everyone we come into contact with and protecting them from abuse or exploitation. This includes beneficiaries (who are primarily children), adults at risk, staff and partner network staff. Our safeguarding policy covers prevention of, reporting of and response to safeguarding concerns which include abuse, bullying, harassment and sexual exploitation. As a child focussed agency, we also have a separate child safeguarding policy. Click here for a summary.

If you have any concern about safeguarding, which involves Viva staff or associated personnel, please email safeguarding@viva.org
