Nicholas Bamber

Nick has been active in the unlisted private placement segment of the debt capital markets since 1996, during which time he has arranged financings for numerous large and medium-sized corporations across a broad spectrum of sectors and jurisdictions. He has been responsible for arranging many of the market’s ground-breaking transactions and assisted in a number of complex corporate restructurings. Nick holds an MBA from the London Business School and a BA from Durham University. He is married with two children.

Miles Buttrick (Treasurer)
Retired, former Accountant

Miles Buttrick

Miles is a qualified accountant and corporate treasurer with almost thirty-five years experience in business. He has worked for British Gas, Thomas Cook, Coopers and Lybrand Deloitte (now PWC) and Coventry Building Society. During this time he has lived, worked and travelled overseas in Asia, the Middle East and Scandinavia. Between 1996 and 2006 he was a Trustee of Tearfund, being Treasurer for nine of those years. At the end of 2007 Miles retired to concentrate on working in the charity and voluntary sector. Miles is married with three sons.

Martin Hull (Company Secretary)
Research and Evaluation Co-ordinator, Viva

Martin Hull

Martin was a member of the original team that established Viva in 1996, and has continued to shape the organisation through its many transformations since that time. Joining Viva soon after graduating from Oxford University, Martin has focused on developing Viva’s reputation for accurate and reliable measurement and analysis of work with children at risk. Martin is married with two sons and lives in Oxford.

Simon Laver
Partner, The Perrett Laver Partnership

Simon Laver

Simon is one of Perrett Laver’s co-founders. He previously worked for many years as a senior partner within one of the largest global search groups, and he also founded and led the global life sciences practice group. In 2008 Simon was named by Business Week on its list of the ‘World's 100 Most Influential Headhunters’. Simon holds a first class degree from the University of Oxford and an MBA from the London Business School (including a semester at the Tuck School, Dartmouth College). In addition to being a Trustee of Viva Simon is also a Trustee and Chair of the International and Advocacy Committee of Tearfund and an advisor to the University of Oxford’s McDonald Centre for Theology, Ethics and Public Life. He and his wife live in Surrey.

David Westlake
Integral Mission Director, Tearfund

David Westlake

David Westlake joined Tearfund in 1996 as Youth Director, responsible for their work with children, young people and students, and in 2006 he became Innovations Director, developing new ways of engaging donors with beneficiaries. His work in mobilising and equipping grassroots faith groups to engage with their communities then resulted in the formation of the Integral Mission Project. David’s background is as a professional youth worker and church leader. He studied at Jesus College, Oxford, completed an MA in Applied Anthropology at Goldsmiths College, London, and has an MBA through the Open University. He is married with one daughter and lives just outside of London.

Mary Hippsley
Dean of Academic Studies, King’s Bible College

Mary Hippsley

American born, Mary completed her theological studies in London in 1980. She has since taught Religious Education at senior school level for a number of years and is currently co-ordinating the academic programme at a small independent theological college in Oxford. She was originally asked to join the Viva staff in a pastoral capacity approximately ten years ago and has served as a trustee for the last five years. Mary is married with two children and lives in London.

Stuart Pascall
Church Leader, Banbury Community Church

Stuart Pascall

Stuart Pascal comes from several generations of Christians, with Blaise Pascal in the family tree! He has had a long and exciting life of working in the Christian and charitable sectors, including being a Director of the Saltmine Trust, on the Board of the Evangelical Alliance, a Trustee of Toybox since its inception and teaching at Moorlands College. He is now a part of the Staff Leadership Team at Banbury Community Church. Stuart has been happily married to Marg for over 30 years and has three children, all blessed with having left home!

Dick Hunter

Dick Hunter joined Molins PLC, an international engineering and service business, in 2003, became a main board director in 2004 and then CEO in February 2008. Dick has extensive international management experience having worked outside the UK for 10 years in SE Asia, North America and Europe. Dick holds a BSc Hons degree in Geology from Durham University and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management. Dick is married with two adult children and lives in Oxfordshire.
