Connect

Connecting people is a vital part of what Viva does. We believe that collaboration is the lifeline of an effective response to children at risk.

Working together we have the power to effect substantial collective change in a way that we do not have when we work alone: working together we can go beyond simply reacting and responding to the needs and begin to proactively tackle the issues faced by vulnerable children.

That is why the network model is at the centre of Viva’s vision. We want projects to come together to change their communities, benefiting from each other’s knowledge, skills, and contacts, and in turn serving a greater number of children with a higher quality of care.

Viva Story: Cambodia

Chab Dai, a network partnering with Viva in Cambodia, works towards reducing the high rate of child trafficking in that country. Their family forum recently created a game, based on snakes and ladders, to help educate families about the dangers of trafficking and exploitation.

Called 'The Family Game of Life' it helps men in particular to understand the difficult situations in which vulnerable children can find themselves, and how to make good choices for their families so that their own children are kept safe.
